The new Doug West Gallery is now open in Arroyo Seco, a short 15-minute drive north of Taos, NM. Arroyo Seco is on State Road 150 leading to the Taos Ski Valley. It’s a small charming village that offers two excellent restaurants and small sophisticated shops, all without the tourist hustle and bustle of Taos.

The Doug West Gallery is housed in a historic 120-year-old adobe, which combines the perfect mix of rustic charm with the polish of fine art. Here Doug shows a combination of his famous hand made serigraphs, as well as his new large oil paintings and monotypes. Included is a printmaking studio on the premises where visitors can view Doug making original monotypes on an etching press. A bonus for collectors is the opportunity to directly speak with Doug about his artwork.

Doug is happy to also represent the finely crafted artistic expressions of other fine artists. Scott Reuman displays beautifully polished representational stone sculpture. Matt Adams presents contemporary high-fired clay sculpture, with the feeling of ancient natural forms. Margaret Haydon exhibits large scale ceramic sculpture created with spirit and heart. Carole Ross has created works combining the appearance of historic southwestern archaeological pots with the special sacred feeling of unique Japanese ceremonial tea bowls.

Gretchen Ewert shows her Primordial Egg series of elaborately hand decorated clay forms, David Beumee presents the finest in hand made porcelain vessels, and Nausika Richardson displays her traditional Majolica pottery. Jewelry artists Nancy Racine, Deborah McLean, Jennifer Knollenberg and Kirsten Moorhead all show mastery of sterling silver and gold, with finely designed stones in rings, necklaces and bracelets.
